What we have when we get old,
it may not be our families
nor our friends.
It might be
a trajectory of our lives.
It might be
the path which we have followed
with sorrows, pains,
and some sweet memories.
It is a path unerasable
even if forgettable.
It is a path
of consolation,
of encouragement,
and of lessons.
So I feel now, and
I am grateful,
thinking of the days
that I have lived so far.
And I think of the days
when I will have
a cognitive problem.
Thinking of the days
that I have lived so far,
I love this solitary life.
